    Battery / Cordless Air Pumps

Here is another very portable option. I know, I know it looks like a toy which was my first reaction, but it works surprising well. It is about the size of two cigarette packs, but inflates my Clearwater kick boat to 80-85% in a couple of minutes, then I top it off with a K-pump...

    Bamboo fling 2025

I am sorry I missed the Bamboo get together this year. I always enjoy casting and seeing the history of bamboo rods on display. We were in eastern Washington on a pay-to-play lake which is well managed for large, energetic rainbows. After which, I went to Chopaka to unlimber one of Mike Monsos'...

NRS Oxbow 85 New personal watercraft

I just ran across this raft while checking out the NRS website. A new personal watercraft from NRS. It looks like a competitor to the Outcast Stealth Pro except it has a mini frame with "real" oars...

Another Competitor in the Single Man Raft World

It has been discontinued although they still have one advertised on their website. You would have to glue on a Scotty anchor mount in order to have an anchoring system. https://www.nrs.com/nrs-gigbob-20/p9fg?srsltid=AfmBOorOl1xq_NpBXIutCciB-UpQGiMtrMweN_U07gvrqbsNBhiYfuHv

Two advantages to the Clearwater: much better oars and oarlocks (as in real oarlocks) and the rower sits much higher which is a huge advantage navigating rivers.

A trick to wading and fishing inside boats like this is to drop the anchor lightly which will keep the stern upstream. You just need to push a bit with your legs as you fish downstream. I have done it for decades.

You could use cam straps going around the tubes where the foot rest attaches and carabiner the footrest to the cam straps. Just a thought on losing the oar towers: I would think it more likely the oar would snap out of the oar lock first. That's why I use safety straps from the oar to the oar tower.

It is nearly frameless but not quite. I still liked their GigBob frameless design better which had an anchoring system. No anchoring system, no interest. I will add it is true one could use the glue-on Scotty anchor mounting pad on Boundary. An anchor is important to me so I can use it in a lake...

One-man Pontoon Recommendations for Olympic Peninsula Dec-March

I had the Gigbob (RIP after 20 years) and loved it. The problem with the "sale boat" no anchor setup. The one had (2005) had an anchor set up but NRS' vendor that made the anchor plate is out of business. I bought the Outcast Clearwater (frameless). A bit longer than the Gigbob (dumb name) at...

    Lone Lake conditions anyone..?

Rather than turn to the vulcanized baits of the bass boys, I use the spun hair of land animals which excite and galvanize "big lips" into action!
