    Puget Sound

Hit the sound with a non fly fishing friend. We dragged some flies, spoons and herring around on divers looking to get an early start to the year filling the freezer. Pretty solid fishing. Limited by 7:30 am even after releasing some smaller keepers. Deep red rezzie flesh… Will probably...

    More Than a Year Later….

Pretty awesome trip. I’ve watched about 10-15 minutes and will definitely watch the rest.

Grips you like and don’t like..

I am surprised at the number of folks that have a preference. I am middle aged, normalish sized hands (see below) and no current medical issues like arthritis and truly have no preference. I feel like this thread is going to start me down path of noticing and hating 2/3rds of the grips on my...

Grips you like and don’t like..

Non preference here. I have never developed a preference for grips and don’t recall ever noticing a difference between grips on fly rods at all. It has never factored even a little bit into me liking a rod or making a decision to buy one. Lots of other things have, but not even once has the grip...

I was fishing a couple years back with an engineer helping lead the design of the VR products for a very large tech company. He jokingly mentioned quitting his job to develop better fly fishing products instead, and asked the rest of us the one thing we felt needed to be designed better and why...

    New England tailwater report..

They also had the best fight song as well. Well, maybe not. Kind of sounds like a game show theme. Nostalgic though… It’s a tailwater so artificially cold. Lots of small streams hold native brookies in the state though and I think other rivers hold naturally producing and stocked trout...

    New England tailwater report..

Go Whale! Did not catch enough of those either. Mostly Browns this trip with a Brookie and Rainbow thrown in here and there.

    New England tailwater report..

Headed home last week to visit family. We had a couple milestone birthdays to celebrate (mine and my fathers) and a memorial service for my 93 yo grandfather who passed over the winter. As with all visits back home, I take a few fly rods along to fish the local tailwater where I learned to fish...
