Going with a 35# raft is a game changer. My pram was 65, pontoons I looked at 50+/-. My outcast Clearwater is 35#. It’s a joy to move, lift so the Scout would be as well

Rivers and lake use only, listed by amount of use. Favorite is Echo 9’ 4wt (rivers/lakes) Tenkara adjustable length (creeks/rivers) Loomis 9’ 6wt (lakes) St Croix 8’ 5wt. I bought it 25 years ago for horse packing, I haven’t fished it in 15 years but my wife has a few times, but I think about...

Sounds like you've physically met him, family reunion?

This is why I commented such.

Ummm, basis of lecture was we are basically all related

Yes, because as you go back, villages were smaller. Even neighboring villages might have people you’re already related to without knowing. I think in 30 generations, the number becomes just over 2.14 billion family members. Bad thing is if I remember correctly, earth didn’t get a billion...

Not really humor, unless you take it to the darkside. I was listening to a podcast lecture on family trees. He equates it more to a web. I was quite surprised. The number of people over time you are related to. Ever think of it? As you work backwards, it doubles. Your parents are 2...

Layout, design characteristics are of a pram I built 7 years ago. Plans from a designer on Duckworks?

True, but certain budget documents offer insight to an extent. But that’s the same with military programs, only the black budgets are not open to review

But people either don’t understand the breadth or depth, or choose to ignore it.

It is a stretch unless you group all of the communist countries with their policies together. Chinas Great Leap Forward 1959-1961 was estimated deaths of 15-55 million. It’s calculated Russia lost 100 million deaths by 1991.

One thing I haven’t seen mentioned concerning younger generations, environmental factors to go along with everything mentioned so far. Several years ago (30+?) the conversation was puberty changes in kids with the leading factor being processed foods, shampoos, etc, impacting hormones. Fast...

Area wide doesn’t look good. Though it shows 72% of normal north central Wa, I noticed that a few snotel spots had over 100% which brought up the average for that section. Overall precipitation is up, but a lot of that fell as rain or warmer temperatures melted the snow.

I cut way back on drinking 40+ years ago in my 20’s. Reason why? I walked into the bar i hung out in after working late, my “friends” had already been drinking. Talk about obnoxious people, oh, wait, surely I don’t act that way? After that i cut way back, stopped hanging out, there’s better...

Supposed to be in 40’s this week Ea Wa.

Most information says a minimum 8” above the seat, maximum 11.5”. Not just from this article but others including boat building forums. https://angusrowboats.com/blogs/news/fixed-seat-rowing-geometry

Intriguing article, thank you for sharing. I’ve often seen those feathers but never gave them much thought. Beautiful wing photos, but sad to imagine the thousands of birds it took not just for each of their collections, but the multitude world wide.
