If you get a chance, a mini tutorial on how to make a fiberglass ferrule would be really helpful. I'd like to one day make a spey rod with fiberglass ferrules. Your woodworking is always exceptional.

An 8 wt is very useful here for coho. Yucatan permit, baby tarpon, and snook. For me, I'm learning any fish feels good on a the properly weighted rod and line.....the salt water reel though.....that's important! A reel that binds up or gets sticky during a run....geez. They get whacked...

I'm confident @iveofione would make an attempt to return a found item if identified, and if it weren't for this thread I would have never thought of using a QR code to identify my gear. It intrigues me since it would be small, neat, and could hold a large amount of info.....and possible not...

I am digitally challenged. My daughter showed me a site where I can get my own QR code for free. I think I could just print these off and affix them to my gear with a message and any contact info I want to include. Is there a disadvantage to this that anyone is aware of? Thanks, Mark

Welcome. I love that area and all its beaches and rivers. I will have to stop by next time I'm down there. I'll definitely get a couple flies. Mine seem to have only a so so attraction to the steelhead in those rivers : ).

I will have campsite 17 for Sat to Sunday. I believe we can put two vehicles at a campsite. I'll be arriving Sat morning and can help set up and since I'm leaving Sunday I can help break down. I might be partaking of some refreshment also....so probably good not to drive home Sat night. Did I...

Steve Godshall was kind enough to get back in touch with me. I'm going to have him build a scandi line for both my ACR 7wt and my Loop 6wt. Thanks for all the input everyone. I'll let you know how my casting goes. Hopefully I'll get a couple chances to try it out on the Deschutes this fall.
