Someone who suspects that government is a bit more nefarious than the mainstream might suggest that cuts on an activity that has more politically active base might be specifically targeted by such cuts. Eliminate the activity entirely and that politically vocational group of people...

The end game? Cushy salaries, benefits, and retirement for everyone in Olympia and screw the rest.

They should be required to eliminate administrative staff and functions. Not the more publicly used stuff. They serve us not themselves. They should start at the very top.

My center of activity in Montana in Ennis.. you're right the MO is not that far I just never get up that way. If Helena is a destination for you then the MO makes perfect sense. Whatever you do though do not explore the little Black Foot. :)

I'm leaving Wednesday the 2nd and will be fishing the upper wade section of the Madison at least through the 6th. I expect fishing to be excellent even if the big bugs are long gone. There will be tons of caddis and PMDs. Maybe slightly less crowded if the big bugs are gone. We may...

Pmds and tons of caddis... maybe some yellow sallies but probably too late for any other stoneflies. Ants and beetles are often good and if you get into the mountains or forested areas spruce moths can play a role.

They need to find that bison, tranquilize it and shave a little stick figure on its side. The same way fighter pilots put kill marks on the sides of their planes.

I think single handers are slightly better but spey rods are still a very good options. 1. I'd go short sub 12 foot 2. Get an 8 or 9 wt you'll likely be fishing around Chinook and chums too 3. If you an get a completely integrated like, even the sink tips if you can... loops going through...

I assume someone got there before me and hooked the fish. Another good assumption is that PGE and the confederate tribe of the Warm Springs nation screwed up the river :) On the other hand, some days the fishing is just off.

Not a goal oriented activity for me anymore. I just want to enjoy myself.

First they have to make the best rods.

The problem is that they are placing the blame/ responsibility on the wrong party. They should require that all state issued ID meet or exceed the real ID standards

Don't let lack of gear stop you.. I have plenty

I've found true morels at BA beach. How's that for an ancient reference and not giving away a spot? :) I've also found them in various undeveloped land in North west Portland . Not lots of them due to competition but they are there

My wife found 3 small true morals last week at river level in Klickitat county. There are hundreds of different morel species that pop at different times. Check your spots early check them often.

One thing about Verpas is that you shouldn't drink alcohol while consuming them. Their chemical make up combines with alcohol to make a substance the same as rocket fuel. First timers with this mushroom should only eat small amounts and it's advisesble to eat just the caps. Once...
