English Creek (Montana Trilogy) by Ivan Doig. This was a reread for me - some books are well worth it and this one was. Highly recommend this to anyone whose never read Doig (and if it's been awhile, read it again).

My long time fishing partners invited me many times to join them on a drift down (can I name the river?) the big S river. We always stopped at the Blue Bird Cafe in Arlington, long before dawn. I too miss that particular fishing breakfast and those trips down the S.
