This is the first year we've had a hummingbird feeder so....... not much first hand experience in Ephrata observing their behavior. It has been fun watching one roost on the fiberoptic cable drop to the house then drop down and challenge other hummingbirds that get to close "to my feeder"...

I wondered about the hook eye not being "smooth" - I've had issues with one brand of tippet rings (I used and improved clinch knot when tying the leader and tippet to a tippet ring) where it seems the tippet ring cut or wore the tippet (and once the leader connection).

Natural AC? 80°F at 0522 when I got up; I could smell smoke. Closed the crawl space vents (where our furnace is). The AQI is 491 and the forecast is 98°F. Oh for rain. Thank goodness for AC, at least the house is nice and cool inside. No fishing today. Yes, I'm whining.

First of all, I'm jealous that you're hooking fish large and strong enough to break 3X. I didn't reread the link so I don't know what knot you're using to attach the lead hook and the tag of the dropper; could that be your issue (even though you are being careful)? I use non-slip loop knots...

This album was released a few months after I separated from active duty with the Navy. I still enjoy the album (although now mostly streamed but sometimes played on an old CD player, that worn out LP, along with a few hundred other LP's, went to Dan's collection).

I wore out my "Can't Buy a Thrill" LP, such a great album from them.
