As much as I enjoyed fishing that Fenwick this summer I will look into a modern glass rod . I'm thinking a 5weight , I suppose 8-6 ?

Indicator fishing , casting is not much of an issue , so the performance in that part is not much of an issue , just nice with a fish on it . I'm fishing a weight forward 6 weight line on it . Probably a good double taper would work okay for dry's. Never fished a modern glass rod .

Nice . I like these old Fenwick's . I haven't fished dry's with this 6 weight ,but I should try it . It's what I fished in the 70's ,but just don't remember much about the rod, until now . As said didn't know how nice they are , might feel different casting dry's all day with a heavier glass...

Hopefully the Chefs will be playing the Chickens this year ,could possibly quiet the home crowd . I do like everyone writing off those Chefs , oh ! thats right they do have Walker . ;)

Some really like the Davey , I learned it years ago ,very simple ,not sure I remember it now . It is a quick one , but the improved clinch was the first fishing knot my brother showed me ,and just found it good enough to tie on flies .

I have learned , and forgotten many knots over the years . I keep it simple , and easy these days . Improved clinch , non slip loop , perfection loop ,and the double or triple surgeons knot . Covers about everything I do . Occasionally a nail knot , with the tool of course . :)

Some of best memories were with my dad . Being raised in northern Montana in the 50's, and early 60's was a pretty great time , our horses , etc etc .

I see a bit of the weekend funnies here in Montana , but not nearly like some of my local lakes , when the power squadron get going .
