Or another way: Mother of seven kids all named Frank. “How do you call just one over?” “Well, then I call him by his last name.”

We know the tooth brush was invented in Alabama. Had it been invented anywhere else it would be a teeth brush.

    A juxtaposition

I don’t run, but I walk my dog, often with a favorite hickory walking stick. I consider it a calming influence. “There's nothing like a nice piece of hickory.” (Preacher)

    a reel that isn't a reel?

I could modify the back side of said tuna can to fit your rod mount. ($99.95 ;-)

I have way more vests, slings, chest packs etc than I should, but I still ogle offerings sometimes in the shops. I reject many though because I feel like a commando, as in the pic above. I guess I consider it a gentle sport, thus I try for simple. But dammit, I do like carrying some stuff.

A friend visiting his proctologist brought an ink stick and had his wife write the tramp stamp “Turn on lights before entering tunnel”. Brought a huge laugh and the doc commended her penmanship in the waiting room later.

    Not again

I fished in the Suquamish fishing derby. Never won a thing. Musta been weights involved. That derby was canceled around 1966. I’m still pissed and won’t enter another. They’re all crooked as Lance Armstrong.

    Robert Duvall passed today

I too am a big fan. Of all the great movies, I never miss seeing Lonesome Dove again, and again. Believe I read recently that in an interview he said he had the most fun in that role as Gus. He wore it well. “Gonna get me some.” Tommy Lee Jones is also a fav, and I imagine enjoyed it too: “Even...

Or “Teriyaki NOW!” I think opening the “2nd National Bank” would work. Or possibly “1st Local Bank”. While I’m generally good with math, I can’t imagine happiness in accounting, so I’ll leave it alone. Reflecting on 1st Local, reminds me of growing up in Poulsbo through the late 50s and 60s...

    Most Popular Fly Rod Weights

Coach, glad you like the plus. I had a 590 RPL+ for maybe a week. It was waaay to fast, like someone there thought “hey, let’s see how far we can make this thing throw.” It took only one outing for me to sell. Glad that some like them though, as I got my purchase price back. I’m probably waxing...

    Most Popular Fly Rod Weights

IMHO, the Sage RPL was the milestone that put them on the map and made them the industry leader. Thirty seven years later it’s still one of the sweetest rods to cast. Matches my arm perfectly anyway. I could be wrong but it’s seemed to me that every new model since has failed to duplicate that...

    Most Popular Fly Rod Weights

Kinda liked my 3wt as I maybe enjoy small streams more than anything. But I always struggled when the 11:00 wind piped up, so I like 4wts more. But then 5wts proved far more versatile, and with good technique, almost as delicate. But then, I always seemed to be working harder than necessary to...

Let’s start a trout spey thread

Before the Winston I mentioned above, I had an Echo SR 4wt, and threw the 235gr Ambush. That was a pretty fun and versatile combination. I still have the line and occasionally try it out on one of the 7wts. I often think i should spool it on a pflueger 1495 mounted on a Fenwick ff857 I have, and...
