its not a titty bar. met the gal running the place at cottonwood when getting off the river a few weeks ago.

thx for the report. its like a lot of fishing efforts.. u gotta put in the time, and figure out the system. even going a few guided trips, its way different when u are then out on your own.

the bark ones look very nice, but i also like the rattan - i would not be as disapointed if i banged it up vs the bark ones.

the hole size is 1 3/8" dia. and when i spotted the jay or jays it appeared that they were trying to get their beaks in and raid the nest. havent seen little ones since.

any ideas to keep the blue jays out of the bird boxes attached to the side of my house? i am in the city, so cant do much to scare the jays away.

First year in the army, 1973, as draft wound down, ended up in northern italy. signed up for a matterhorn climb, two 2nd lieutenants organized the deal. we had about 6-8 on the team. made it up to a refugio at about 11.5k ft. a few of the guys were showing symptoms of altitude sickness, weather...

i hooked a few trees back up the 'rivers' :) we didnt use poppers, but it seemed most well placed shots up the rivers, got a response. usually only one or two, and then no more, and had to back out to find the next place. i was thinking i might have done better with a 7' rod in there.

you guys got me going into the 'way back' machine. when i was teen, pre-teen, we hiked into cascade lakes with the real one person navy surplus rafts. we had ping pong like paddles and drug around... who knows what. caught fish, and kept me in the game.

maybe 3 mornings out of 6, we were in the midst of very large numbers of feeding fish, with birds all over the place. it seemed to be a challenge to crack the code, and get them to bite. - my dumb thinking is/was that they dont get that big and many by being too picky with what they are eating...
