    Leech Lake

By late Aug/Sep it is pretty much OK around the launch. In the woods, however, you will still be a food item.

    Philosomophizing about fishing

On the other hand, I like to see the bobber go down. There are a lot of fish down there.

    SFR Two years out....Retirement

I retired in 2003 at 59 and a half. I think I have regretted it about 6 seconds since then. I had a plan and stuck to it. The markets were better than expected and I was able to finance some real luxuries later on. I went to high school in Mt. Vernon and college in Bellingham. I would have...

    Community sharing and two requests

I would like to tell you about the joy, real joy, in going fishing after the "process". You have a lot of worries and have to overcome quite a bit of the unknown. It just is. My advice is to breathe deep and let it flow over you. I learned how to cry late in life, it was very good for me...

Mouths to feed. Its fun in the late summer to watch the fledgelings learn to fish. They have a lot of motivation but little skill.

Knuppenberg is a sweet little pond. I saw on the planting records that they put 150 browns in it recently. Roadside stuff takes a beating.

First visit to Mtn FF only Lake on the Mtn this Yr

That was a shaggy dog story. I was at the launch stowing my boat and a couple of guys came in as well. There was a dog, swimming, following them in. Nice old Shepard with a limp. I went up along the camps asking if they were missing a dog and hollered at Lue as well. I did find the owner in...

First visit to Mtn FF only Lake on the Mtn this Yr

I was there Thursday as well and I did see 2 people at the rock slide end fishing from the shore. The wind was just too nasty to make it worth the effort to row all the way there to inspect them.

    Brown Recluse Spider Western Washington

They are quite real and nasty. Wear gloves when sticking your hands into places that have not been disturbed in some time. They are hidey spiders.

Friend with terminal cancer looking for place to fish

I suggest going to a recently planted lake and fish with an indicator. Pretty much any small fly world work, just hang it down 4' and stay kinda close to the boat launch they were put in at. Simply look at the WDFW web site for a list of lakes...

Sobalo, locally. The guide would only handle them with a rag as the slime was pretty nasty.

Dang, I got beat. I say skins from molting Atlantic Salmon.
