I got a rare for me two-fer last Monday in tidewater on hatchery springers. Number one came off a clouser and numero dos fell to my version of a boss fly. Yummy!

Your images are spectacular as always - thanks for sharing! Oh boy, the hybrid thing is always a toughie. I am going to send those images to a buddy that has worked a lot with YK Delta geese and get his thoughts. In the meantime, I tend to agree that it might be a CACG/GWFG hybrid.

We have two osprey pairs terrorizing the catchable trout population at Devils Lake. Typically we have a pair that shows about the time the trout food supply arrives. This is the first year that we've seen a second pair.

Brian - I’m not at all versed on loon behavior but I did see several north bound flocks of white-fronted geese fly over yesterday. I’m guessing that’s what you saw as well.

I got this photo from our neighbor - we weren't home when the elk invaded our yard a few weeks ago.

I took this photo through one of the windows at our office which was located at Shasta Valley Wildlife Area in Northern California. We had an "office bobcat" and she brought her kittens around from time to time. We watched her and her litters for 4 or 5 years before I retired.
