    Brain fog

Yes, the process of keeping the cabin pressurized means that new air is constantly being pumped in from AC packs to replace the air that escapes, due to the vessel not being 100% air tight. The number of “air changes” per hour is actually much higher than in a standard home or office building.

Help with a Fly Logic rod

I'll look at my FLO-1308 tonight when I get home (and maybe try to weigh it too). It's been years since I had it out of the tube, but I want to say mine has a mottled green color metal reel seat where that one is straight silver. I'm curious now if mine says 1308 anywhere on the blank. But...

Help with a Fly Logic rod

If it measures 14', then that nails it down, it would have to be the FLO-1409. If it's 13' then it could be the 1307 or 1308. But then maybe you could weigh it and see if it's closer to 8 13/16 oz or 9 1/2 oz based on what Stonedfish posted above. That's a pretty narrow window but it might...

Help with a Fly Logic rod

I remember they made a FLO-1307 and 1308, also a 1409. I have a FLO-1308, I can look at it ans see if there's anything on there that could be used to confirm it's weight.

    Water

Wow, that's a wonderful essay! I struggled a bit with comparative lit in college and having to write these types of essays was often tough for me. She really nailed it, right from the first paragraph with that tight, concise thesis statement: "...water serves as a redemption and hope in the...

    Relaxing Fly Tying

I watched a couple of her videos last night and enjoyed them. A few times the overly exaggerated strumming of the nails on each subsequent bottle of cement she brought out was a bit weird. But the only thing that kept me awake half the night was the fact that she finished both of these...

    Tippet ring quality

I had the same problem with some rings I was using to set up a beach rig. They were cutting 8# Maxima UG. Infuriating!

    Pizza query

I have one of the Ooni propane fired ones. It works well, but I'm still learning how to get the pie to slide off cleanly from the peel into the oven. Have had a few complete failures that ended up being some semblance of a scorched calzone once I salavaged it. But it's fun.

OSP needs help (fishing closed waters on Walla Walla river)

Yeah, it's open for steelhead in WA August thru April, I wonder if he's a Washington angler and unknowingly wandered below the state line. I just did a Google Maps street view on the major road there that crosses the state line hoping I'd see a "Welcome to Oregon" sign, but I don't see one. I...

    Flyfishing Kihei Hawaii

That box looks good, especially the right side if you’re targeting bones. If you decide to chase the trevally, you might want more flashy streamers. I’m far from an authority on HI flyfishing, but this is what my Hawaii box looks like: The yellow and white ones on the left are a baby...

    Seeking Hawaii advice

For saltwater, no (unless they've changed the rules). For freshwater you need a license. The first time I went I was going crazy trying to find out how to buy a saltwater license online, until I finally realized there was no license requirement in the salt.
