    Backyard Wildlife

Our weekend entertainment included 6 eagles - 5 adults, 1 immie, a couple of osprey at the same time. Family place, since 1941, on Mason Lake by Shelton. I grew up fishing for just about anything. I don’t fish there any more. To busy with the big boat wakes. Fortunately, a lot of other options.

    Another Spring Fling has flung…

Roper is a great host and the company is stellar. Good friends, good food and some great fishing - for those that don’t break off the “pigs”. Sunsets are extra special..

    Backyard Wildlife

Our kittie brings home bunnies too. Once they leave the warren, they are pretty much on their own. I have a nice area, with plenty of food that I release them. Then there are the owls, hawks and coyotes. All part of the cycle.

    Intel for Chopaka

There a lot of much better options in the area, in my opinion. Chopaka has had better days. Plus, camping spots have been iffy for years. It always bothered me about the big rigs up on the hill.

No, trying to give shoulder rest. Just got back from Oroville, the Spring Fling. Shoulder did okay with some casting adjustment.

    Nice cutty

I fish the salt for them close to where I live. To me, any cutty is nice, and special. With luck I can also pick up rezzies.

    Winthrop Area Spring Fishing

Chronies / San Juan worms can produce very well in many of the lakes over there. And, of course, woolly bugger type flies. I usually have three rods in the boat and put an emerger on one of them just in case. Don't ignore the shallows even with a chronie. I have had good success even in 2'...

    Got any bird pics?

The sound of a falcon stooping is incredible. Had one at Dry Falls going after a duck. I heard it before I saw it. There was another one in Costa Rica that hit a swift. The swift was tumbling through the air and the falcon made a U-turn and got the bird.

Excellent, as usual. Love the bright blue bill on the ruddies. Also enjoy their courtship display. Thanks!

Holy s***, Peyton. I'm going to have a partial maple taken down. I sure aren't going to try it myself. Hope you heal up quickly.

    Got any bird pics?

That’s how we learn, observing and asking questions. I have been birding since 1971. Just keep your eyes open and ask questions. Cabezon has been a wealth of information and I am in awe what he passes along. Thanks Cabezon. I really started my birding on the Nisqually Delta. Still a stellar...
