    NFR Got any mammal pictures

Must be Hobo Marmots . . . (focus isn't real sharp - took these at 1600mm and 140 yards or so. Sometimes . . . "You gotta pick the fruit where you find the tree." Sony Clear Image Zoom is a useful tool!).

    NFR Owl House help

Are there dead limbs/perches near to the nest box? Is there water close by? Since they are natural-cavity nesters, I wonder if a round or oval entry hole would be more appealing to them?

NFR Talk to me about portaledges (climbing sleeping systems) - your likes/dislikes

Fecal friends. Fortunately, how to pinch a loaf on the sheer side of a vertical rock wall is just another problem I'll never have to endure.

    NFR What am I ?

Since ant swarms are starting, I'm going with an ant alate, the winged reproductive version.

    Got any bird pics?

Nice, Rich. You DO have a knack for finding cooperative birds perching outside of brushy vegetation!

NFR TICKS - The Threat Grows

Worst I ever saw them was at Hutchinson Lake and south of Sprague Lake, but ticks are pretty much everywhere now. Birds and other critters have helped spread them.

NFR TICKS - The Threat Grows

    Hmmmm . . . Now I know what motivated me to re-apply permethrin to my light-colored anti-tick shirts/pants/"armor" today.

    Got any bird pics?

Thanks, I did check, Boot; no new files. I was shooting my old Sony A9II. I checked both cards. I'm starting to wonder if I somehow inadvertantly deleted the DCIM folder as I opened it. I checked history but there were no files to restore. No biggy; I'll play catch-up over the next few days.

    Got any bird pics?

Very cool, Boot! I had a target rich morning myself - great Pelican & hiding Rooster close-ups; various shorebirds & a couple brightly colored song birds, all of which I need to identify. Captured 2 Ravens and a distant Osprey. Even caught some swallows on the wing, 1 Heron and even some capr...

    SFR 45 years ago today…..

I was running a country bar in the Deerlodge Valley. I rose early and got the coffee on so the ranchers could stop by for their morning shot & a coffee. I walked out the front door later and saw that the skies to the west were dark. I said to myself "Man, looks like a dandy storm rolling in. "...
