I need to get out to a lower elevation lake, think I visited this one last year. Great looking cutthroat.

That is a striking bow. Was that in the upper section? I've found one area in particular with primarily heavily spotted and colored up rainbows but none as spotted as that one. Almost looks like some coastal cutthroat I've seen.

I think they were March Browns I saw the same thing on Monday. I used 5x earlier in the spring but have been using 4x for all nymphs and 3x if I’m throwing a bigger bug like a salmonfly. Streamers I just use a straight shot of 4-5 ft of 12lb maxima so I will play them a little more confidently.

First day of consistent dry fly fishing I’ve had. Some willing participants.

How difficult is that float? I've heard the farmlands is the most difficult area potentially? I'm still a newer rower only having rowed the canyon, all sections. I really like march brown wets as well, they just look buggy.

Got out for a few hours this afternoon. Good amount of March Browns around but only the dinks were hitting the dry so I stuck to nymphing for most of the time. Lost a heartbreaker of a battle with a big buck. Need to get out in the raft again and try some new water. Never fished the upper canyon...

Got out and waded the upper Yakima until the water got swift and high. Things got off colored and swift in about 30 minutes. End up having to walk a mile downstream to safely cross. Flows can sure change quickly. Rainbow, westslope, and a whitefish. I’m starting to really enjoy these whitefish...

Was there some update with Sage's warranty process? I sent in rods to Sage and Winston in November and had a better experience with Sage. I broke a few sections on a Sage Foundation model and they sent me an entire new rod in less than a week. I got my Winston back a little over 4 months later.

Which section were you fishing? I had a similar experience with a Skwala dry/dropper setup Tuesday. Saw a rise in a back channel, laid out my cast, the fish took the damn dropper and wrapped around a log jam and broke off.

My parent's have a home in Cle Elum and we go to Roslyn a lot so will definitely stop by when I'm there.

Doesn't sound like a bad day, you got into some fish and rose some on the dry. Plus, you got there the day before things blew out. I floated the canyon the next day and by 1PM it was brown town. Regarding control, were you trying to row and cast at the same time or having trouble anchoring in spots?

Thank you! I’ve always walk/waded the upper portions but there’s only so much bush whacking and sketchy river crossings I’m willing to do. Better to just keep practicing with my current setup until I feel more comfortable to float some new sections outside the canyon.

Do you guys think upgraded oars would make a big enough difference in a Kodiak in terms of responsiveness and easier to maneuver?

Floated ringer to mile marker 19 yesterday in the canyon in my watermaster hoping to see some midge rises or maybe even a Skwala but none were seen. A bit later than last year. Or, I just picked a bad day. Going to try again next Monday/Tuesday. I like the upper Yak better where you’re heading...

Good luck with the sale. I have the same setup and it's been really great so far. If anyone is curious, the raft can easily be deflated a bit and fit in a standard 6 foot truck bed as well. The added trailer makes it a great deal though and much easier to just load up and go.

Same. There's a shop I drive by a lot, TorFab, that specializes in FJ60's, 62's, and 80 series. They always have nice rigs there that they're working on. I've been dreaming of a redone LS swapped 60 for a long time but it's just too much $$$ for me to do something like that.
