Should have the 696 sometime this coming week . We are headed up to the Madison the following week , will give a shot up there to see how I like it . I am looking forward to using it on our April trip to the Bighorn . Last year the first day I fished a 5 weight on the Bighorn , a couple fish...

    Sage rods repair turnaround time

The VXP is unrepairable , they don't have the repair parts . Got a new Sonic coming . The nice thing is I have my choice of any Sonic I wanted . I thought you got what you sent in ,or something comparable , not the case if it's a different model rod . Anyway being a bit 5 weight poor ,not really...

    Awesome Dogs of PNW

He doesn’t care , you see the dog toys scattered by the friends dog , mine could care less . He doesn’t worry about his food or anything, he’s pretty mellow . That dog takes his bed , he goes elsewhere. They get along great , they play , the friends dog is pretty aggressive, if he gets too...

    Sage rods repair turnaround time

I can see your frustration being local ,but I found the process pretty simple being hundreds of miles away . Talking to them on the phone ,they were very cordial ,and helpful as far as what is going to happen , in my case it's most likely going to be a different rod ,but either way I am okay...

    Sage rods repair turnaround time

Doesn't sound like too bad of turnaround this time of year . It's been two weeks so far with me , I would think if it's a different rod I'd get it shipped not long after they look at my rod ,and determine it can't be fixed , no parts . I wish it would be $70 ,but my rod being older is $195 .

Cast right-handed? Psst...You can use right hand retrieve It's OK

I too am pretty ingrained being left handed , but there is two things, one is I reel right handed . It just seems natural to cast left handed being left handed , and wanting the rod in my left hand fight a fish . But what does feel awkward is stripping in line with my right hand , I do it ...

The whole deal was the British were taking such a beating , the US took over the daylight bombing , and the British did the nighttime . Yes we took a beating also . From what I know about the ball turret gunner ,his live expectancy was 1-2 missions . From the stories my uncle told about the...

    NFR B-17 Bomber

That brings back some memories of my uncle that passed away at 100 in 2023 , flew his 25 missions during WW2 in a B-17 . He was a small guy ,he was a ball turret gunner. His bomb group was the 390th . They were stationed in England ,bombing mostly Munster, Germany . They were shot down with his...

Old fishermen w// bad eyes, do you prefer polarized readers or a separate pair of readers?

I bought a pair of clic it's years ago before I retired for work ,computer etc. Left them in my desk otherwise . I can't guess how many pairs of cheap readers I have bought over the years , mostly those three packs from Costco , they fall apart just as fast as the dollar ones . I'm guessing ,but...

Old fishermen w// bad eyes, do you prefer polarized readers or a separate pair of readers?

I have worn sunglasses with bifocals for years ,and just never noticed anything while wading or walking . Apparently I'm just looking over the bifocals when looking down or whatever . I have to make an effort to look down enough to use the bifocals to tie on a fly . My vision is okay at...
