We used to pull em up in crab traps sometimes in tidewater Maryland. We would all shimmy up the dock pilings while the snapper would slow roll us down the dock. One of the fastest animals around for a 8” radius! I remember on breaking a broomstick with one snap.

Squaretails!!! Where I am from in the mid Atlantic we call em specked trout. Which we also called these unrelated fish that are cousins to weakfish that live in the tidewater. Sorry for the drift, thanks for taking us to a cool place!!

Not to drift too far, but where I grew up along a tidewater trib to Chesapeake Bay we had massive pumpkinseeds in very brackish water. So ‘sea run’ pumkinseeds.

The weather at the ‘Mid is crazy and the wind comes up out of nowhere. And due the the fetch the swell gets big quickly, short period with steep faces.
