Yes. yes to all that, wide and sturdy, the lip molded into the rails make it rigid even without the gunnels, but it is not lightweight. I have a much newer plastic canoe/kayak hybrid craft that weighs more though. I can flip it onto the roof of my Subaru, but it's awkward.

16' fiberglass canoe, not sure of the maker, maybe a (Canuck?). Just finished patching and painting the hull(used good quality marine paint). The seats have been refreshed. Now just needs gunnels. I'd keep working on it, but the rest of my summer just became completely booked and I don't have...

I just tied up a bunch of stinger style Clousers, with Owner 1/0 hooks. went slightly heavier on the dumbell eyes. I'm headed up to Ft. Flagler/Marrowstore Pt. this weekend. So we'll see how that goes....

I got a pair of these last year and so far no complaints. Probably not as durable or clear as precise as Costas, but they fit well, and work for me.

Holy cow. that's an impressive stash. I don't have nearly that much room at my tying station, it's literally just a small desk at the end of a low-traffic hallway in my house. couple shelves and that's it. We are going to by moving in the coming year and hopefully my next house has a shop...

Thanks Nick, I've gotten some great advice and perspective from this thread, and a 15 to 17' boat is going to be the most practical choice. For now, I still have a lot of exploring to do on foot, so I'll work with what I have. BTW, your YT tying videos are awesome. Thanks for putting them out...
