Rivers have rights? Who Da Thunk:

If you haven't read the new Robert Macfarlane book (Is A River Alive?) on this topic, you should. It's well worth your time.

    Storing all those fly rods

Blueprint storage racks. You might score one used, or they're cheap online. Given that you don't have tubes for all, I'd be tempted to stick the loose rods in clear poly poster tubes for a little added protection and to keep all of the sections together.

    Nymph ID help

pirating your question to rant: I've been struggling with dragonfly nymph IDs for a while (Hagenius is the only genus that really jumps out to me), and was excited to stumble upon an announcement for a new field guide to dragonflies... Lam, Ed. 2024. Dragonflies of North America. Princeton...

Can we have a blue gill thread?

Can we have a blue gill thread?

Unlikely -- probably one of the longear sunfish complex, which look superficially similar. P-seeds do not occur in Arkansas.

    Geared up for 40s

I may be new-ish here but I was around WFF for a while... #30-40 wire is plenty, just keep an eye on it. You can sometimes go lighter, but be careful -- I had #20 wire get WRECKED on a pike in northern Canada last summer. Shredded almost every strand of 7x7. It was a very solid pike, but still...

    Geared up for 40s

Cross-loc or equivalent (VMC makes a pretty decent snap); size dependent on hook size but at least #50 -- it can be difficult to get some snaps through some hook eyes. About the only time I'll run fluoro anymore is if using more subtle flies under low, clear water conditions, or if I have a...

    Geared up for 40s

Disappointment makes the good days that much better. Also, be careful with those loops, especially with small flies like that. I've had a couple come back sliced clean open (and sans fly). If I use fluoro, it's with a HD cross-loc snap.

    Worlds Largest Slotted Tungsten Beads

Cheaper to just slide a tungsten bullet weight onto the leader -- 1/8 is easy, but you can go bigger... but you're going to want that helmet! :)
