What a difference two years can make... (yes, that is Seeger being questioned by the Man)

    Birch Bark Grip

I did one a few years back... reel pretty, but found the bark hard to work with. (easy to break while reaming it to size) Think there's nearly 100 pieces on this one, and a bunch of Titebond III. I got the bark from Russia (don't ask why) .. and took about 3 months to arrive. I just used a...

    Ice off

Saw this ... for Quincy! Think I'm going to hold off for a few weeks. :(

    Carp - The golden bonefish

Excellent advise, Buzzy! I've caught a total of one fishing for bass... it scared me!

    Float Tube Safety

Yes, I have practiced in my grandsons pool, but haven’t got a picture using it. I know for a fact I can’t get up from the front without it, but able to pull myself up from the side. Just not sure how to get in the seat from there. Works good, lasts long time! I’ll post pictures as soon as the...

    Float Tube Safety

This might help you get back into your pontoon boat... https://a.co/d/iugScnP ..works for me.

    Float Tube Safety

I fished a Bugs Bag for years without any issues, although I did see my buddy try to wade forward in the water with his fins on and do a header. All I saw was his fins sticking up in the air, which had me laughing until I realized he couldn't get right side up! I used a truck inner tube in...

    Why no Polyethylene/Plastic watercraft?

I have a cousin that owns one of those ... she loves it, but doesn't use it to fish.

    Striker 4/3.5'' vs Striker 4/4.3

Not sure this helps, but here's my set up using Scotty bases. I like it. Scotty also makes a float tube attached base.

    First fish for 2023

I haven't measured it, but think the tip is a 4.5.... sweet casting rod I made 10-15 years ago, and still one of my favorites. Thought I might blow it up on this fish, but kept the tip down and played her off the reel. Only issue was my net was too small.. so kicked to the beach to tail her...

    First fish for 2023

Haha…. no set, but I did terrible things to the rod! It’s a Payne 100 (Stone blank) .. and it’s getting use to my abuse.

    First fish for 2023

First fish for the new year, and first time I’ve seen the backing in awhile! Only problem is it’s all downhill from here… I may catch more, but doubt they’ll be as big. Great fun on a 4wt bamboo fly rod…

You show me yours, and I'll show you mine?

A bunch of us were once fishing Lenice, and a buddy came up with a big grin and thanked me for recommending a particular fly... said he caught a bunch of fish on it! I asked him which fly that was because I never tell anyone the same thing... he refused to say.

You show me yours, and I'll show you mine?

Here's a couple "thermo-nuclear" things I use when I absolutely have to catch a fish! Just not sure how much radiation I'm exposed to, using Al's atomic glow..

The oldest rod you regularly use?

I have an 1880's, greenheart fly rod made in Edinburgh, Scotland (with silk line and hair leaders) .. that I regularly fish about once a year.

    Bucks Bags motor mount

As I understand it... all the front and rear motor mounts are universal, and will only fit BB boats made after 2011. It's a 2-3 month wait for one to be made.. so I built my own. Works good, lasts long time.

    Bucks Bags motor mount

I'm looking for a Bucks Bags motor mount that would fit a Sawtooth pontoon boat... anyone have one they would part with? I think "Oregonfishing.com" may have one, but I'm reluctant to send money to a web site I've never heard of. Can anyone recommend them? Of course Bucks Bags are out of stock...

    Scotty fly rod holders

Interesting new Scotty rod holder you have! Can you put the rod in the holder with one hand? Give us a report on how well you like it.

    Scotty fly rod holders

I may be the last one on this list to figure it out… but for those of you still fighting to get your fly rod in and out of a Scotty rod holder, (some reels harder than others) ..just grind down about 1/4” on either side of the opening. Works good, lasts long time!

    Last fishing trip this year…!

Excellent little, last of the year fishing trip with AP and Rick Smith … up at the local I-5 rock pit. It didn’t rain on us, was fairly warm (54*) ..and just a light breeze. Unfortunately, the water was pretty dirty from runoff, and the fish had trouble finding our flies. 🤦‍♂️ We did have a...
