    Herters rod

That's nice looking Boo. I wonder who made these rods for Herters.

I'm a friend of Bill W's, ever since August 19th, 1988. Congratulations to you.

    NFR Wolf Encounters

My wife and I saw a canine that was clearly a wolf (much larger than a coyote) just off the Chiwawa River road in 1993. On that same trip we encountered a young bull moose hanging around the Phelps Creek campground. My family used to camp up in that area in the mid-late 1960's and we never saw...

    Go-to Trout Lake Patterns

I've caught more fish on an Olive Willy than all of my other lake patterns combined. In second place is a black wooly bugger.

    Carkeek Chums

Several years ago I assisted NOAA biologists with a salmon carcass tagging project they did at Carkeek. It was a lot of fun and interesting. Also a lot of work.

    Lake for sale

IS this Vogler Lake? Sort of confusing. I used to fish Vogler Lake decades ago, and at that time an old man owned the old house. He was up there in his years and later he hired a young guy to help him around the place. It was open to fishing. Never did really well in there, but it was a nice...

    Granger Victory?

This is my fourth silk line, and I've been a convert for a long time. My go-to silk line the past few years is a Cadno 5wt DT, and I'm hoping this 6wt line casts similarly. Its all the things you've mentioned, but my favorite quality of silk is how easily it picks up off the water at the end of...

    Granger Victory?

I'll make a post after I've fished it for a while.

    Granger Victory?

    I'm sure I will.

    Granger Victory?

Speaking of Grangers, I just received my new silk line from Zen Outiftters. It's a 6wt DT for my 9050 Special, and I can't wait to string it up and see how it casts. It's absolutely beautiful, but I need to fish it a few times to see how it feels.

    Doing so now.

    NFR Pendleton wool shirts

I'll take the one 2nd from the left. And the one Islander is interested in, too, if he doesn't take it.

    Which ones are remaining, Roper?

    Granger Victory?

You inherited a great rod. Other than the Granger Favorite, I think the wrap colors on the Victory are the nicest looking.

    Fishing License

Both fishing license and hunting licenses (and related tags) are folded in my wallet. Always.

    Reminiscing about Roosters

Very cool post! You had a great time with good friends, great dogs, and willing birds. Wonderful memories.

    2023 Skagit/Sauk season is a go

As a Fed I have to agree with you. I'm set to retire this year or next and I can't wait.

What's in your cast iron tonight?

Thanks Zac. Did you get it? $120 is still a bit steep for me. If I recall correctly Wards CI was made by Wagner. Nice find!

    March crappie

Ditto on the Foster Island area. I have worked in the Montlake neighborhood for 25 years and we'd see crappies on redds very close to the same time as bluegills.

    Why no Polyethylene/Plastic watercraft?

I kayaked for years and as I got older I got so tired of trying to hoist a fiberglass kayak on my car I decided to get a "skin on frame" boat. 14' long and weighs something like 30 lbs. It sure makes a difference.
