Thought I’d give this thread a little bump to show my latest purchase! 99 4runner 4WD, 2 owner. Looking forward to making it into a nice fishing/camping rig to use for many years! (My little RX-7 I take to the pond sometimes!)

The Oregon coast is absolutely one of my favorite places on earth. Here’s a couple from when I visited a few months ago.

Only one this morning but I’m pretty sure it was my biggest SRC to date. Measured right around 15-16 inches on my rod (blurry pic unfortunately 🙁)

Here’s my beach finds from the past week. A pocket knife that is barely recognizable, two pieces of utensils, (The longer piece says “U.” on it. I’m assuming it said U.S.N but it’s broken.) I believe an old buckle, a piece of pottery, and a large piece of glass.

Only one this morning but it was pretty chunky.

I’d go with the 7. I fish it on a 7wt ion XL and it’s light and balances the rod well. Nice to have some extra room for backing too.

Sierra just added a whole assortment of Lamson Liquid and Remix reels to their site for a pretty good discount. I have been fishing a -7+ Lamson Remix pretty hard for the past 4 months and have had no issues. Drag still buttery smooth...

Did a little new beach exploring for a hour or two before work today. Only caught one smaller cutthroat and saw a few jumpers. Conditions were pretty bad with a weak tide and it being really sunny. I’ll give the beach another shot with better conditions another day.

Had the itch so I went out for an hour and a half before work. No cutthroats but one little coho. Spot the pink buzz bomb 🤣

Was pretty windy early on but it calmed down and I managed to land a couple SRC and little coho. Not sure what the tug boat was towing.

Got a few before work today. SRC are such beautiful fish.

Beautiful morning today. Couple cuttys and a couple little salmon. Lost a 2-3lb coho that hit my Delias Squid🥲

Fishing was pretty good until the sun came out. 1/2 on coho and a little cutthroat that wanted to play 😄
