Beach 1 was a bust so I switched up and hooked up within the first 15 mins at the next beach, typical 4lb rezzie. Had another follow but called it shortly after! In other news, Echo is sending me a new butt section for my rod free of cost! 😊

Yeah I already ordered a new tip section for the ion XL. The Boost Blue with the torn up cork is the one I'm gonna try to warranty.

Thanks for the info! I’m hoping that echo will warranty it but we’ll see. I was fishing my backup ion XL today but then I hit the tip section with a clouser and exploded it, so I had to run back to the car and grab the destroyed cork rod to save the day 😂

1/3 today. A bit smaller but it’s one of the most beautiful coho I’ve ever caught.

It’s about 4-4.5”. I’d tie them a little bigger if the bucktail I bought was long enough!

2/4 this morning, both 5-6lb fish. Good to get the skunk off and get my drag going a a little bit😀 Ignore the cork on my rod.. It kind of self destructed today. or maybe I just got a little hungry 😉

0-2 this morning. Had a nice 6-8lb fish take my fly while I was going for my back cast 😭 Back at it again tomorrow.

Been a slow week of fishing for me. I lost one on Thursday and had a few bites on Friday. I caught a nice cutthroat today, (16” or so. No picture because I didn’t have my net on me) my first one on this very popular MA9 beach. I wasn’t very pleased when an individual fishing herring next to me...

I’ve been meaning to post an update on my Cortland experience. I emailed them about the separation and sent them a photo. They are discontinuing the Compact series (or atleast the type 3) and they only had the 7/8 in stock so they shipped one of those to me. Overall a wonderful and easy warranty...

Sounds like my area 9 AND 10 morning except I didn’t even catch a sculpin ☹️ Some nice coho jumping but none biting.

1/3 today. The strong outgoing tide combined with the fog that rolled in around 8:30 made for beautiful conditions until about slack. Coho slashing through baitfish 10 feet in front of me gets the heart racing 🙂 Biggest fish of the year so far for me, weighed 3.5 bled and made a nice run.

There were two additional birds caught after you left 😆 Both were released and flew away. 0/0 for me aswell this morning. Saw a few caught but seemed pretty slow. Tide and water looked great. Wind wasn’t ideal..

Here’s what I do on my dumbell eyes: Wrap a few wraps of 210 around them and get them straight, super glue top and bottom of the eyes, more wraps on top of that, and then when I wrap the diamond braid on the body I wrap it around the dumbell eyes and then UV resin on top and bottom of the eyes...

Found a separation in the running line of my Cortland Compact type 3 while fishing this morning. ☹️ Hopefully I’ll be able to exchange it. The line fishes great and the rest of the line is crack free so I’m hoping I cut it on a barnacle or something and it’s not pulling a Rio on me 🙂

2/3 and 2 more solid bites on the incoming this morning. Love the overcast weather. I kept a 3lb hatchery and let a 1.5lb wild go.

I’ve been using a Tacky Flydrophobic fly box to put flies in after they have been used. So far it has done a great job drying my flies out and preventing rust. (even on the not stainless steel stinger hooks.) I transfer the flies back into the main box the next day 🙂 I fished all these this...
