    Show me your tying storage!

Years ago someone had posted these 18 compartment Flambeau boxes used for thread, wire, tinsel and braid storage. They have really worked out well being front and center in my tying desk. $2.99 at Sportsman's Warehouse...

    Fishing License

When I have to print an out of state license for upcoming road trips I reduce the image to fit in one of those tiny tying bead ziplocks. I may have as many as five in one ziplock in the tippet tender attached to my waders at the moment.

    Firehole Sticks Sale

I got a sad message from the owner of Firehole Outdoors. Due to the recent passing of his wife he is no longer going to be selling direct to the public. They are discounting the direct to public remaining stock until it's gone. He will still continue to partner with retailers going forward.

    Favorite float tube?

For what it's worth a saw a Lost Creek LC9 which IS the Outcast 9-IR pontoon in my local Sportsmans Warehouse if anybody is looking for a hell of deal. $1210 vs $510. I had to pull myself away from that rebranded FC4 on the shelf below it. Love my Lost Creek Xstreamer/ Outcast Scout BTW.

    Nocqua Pro Power Kit

Ive, @Haggis57 suggested to me of using a battery jump starter to power my Striker. I think he claimed his is good for two days plus it fits perfectly in a Outcast Frameless Bag front pocket. Here are photos he sent me to do mine:

    Glues/UV cement applicator of choice?

While looking at the information sheet for a tube of E6000 crafts adhesive it was suggested to use some petroleum jelly on the threads of the tube. I wish I had done this on all the super glue bottles I've tossed. Anybody do this?

    Striker 4/3.5'' vs Striker 4/4.3

Heads up on mounting a Striker 4 to the Fish Finder Mounts base. The screws provided poke through the bottom of the base ever so slightly. I nipped a tiny bit off the points and was good. NRS sells 1-1/2” straps to replace the sad buckle FFMs provides. I just happened to set my new Striker 4...

    Why do you tie?

As I've always been an artistic person and committed to some amount of detail. It's been a great outlet of pursuit of both. A lot of it began from not being able to find commercially tied flies and soon I realized how poorly made a lot the available ones were. I'm also sending stuff to my son in...

    Gumbo

I'll have to try the stout next time. My go to recipe for gumbo, once crab season commences, is P. Prudomme's seafood gumbo loaded up with local shrimp, oysters, and dungeness. Agree with y'all, after a few decades of making this, it's all about the roux. @Jojo, that is what I shoot for.

NFR How much wind did you get?

Here in Muktown we had power out shortly before half of my neighbor's redwood decided to pay us a visit. Surprisingly the rhoddies below kept it from crashing through the fence. We limbed it back a bit but will have to get some pros out to deal with the rest.

    Stripping Basket

I've decided to give the Ahrex Flexistripper a try. I use a stripped down Fishpond wading belt with the net loop in the back and I keep the basket belt above that to keep the basket from sliding down my non existent ass. The basket is always higher than I'd like so I thought I'd give this a shot:
