    Flickers are nice birds. A big share of their diet is ants. That’s why you often see them on sidewalks. Of course, they also love suet, as do many other birds.

    If they are bold faced hornets, spray it and don’t stop then run, quickly. Shut door and windows. Don’t ask me how I know this. Hit it early evening, night while they are in the hive. Have benedryl handy. Good luck.

    Dave, good on you and thanks for sharing. I grew up fishing so many smaller creeks with my father. He is long gone but I still cherish the time spent with him on skinny water. Nothing better and you seem to have so many spots to yourself and the dippers.

He. also had Falcons that would hunt with his Brittany. The Nisqually Delta was a trip each weekend. What a special place. Oh, and we hunted a lot down...

    It can also be noisy up the little Naches with all the off road activity. I would look for something along the Bumping.

    The Man Who walked Through Time by Colin Fletcher. The first to hike / walk the Grand Canyon I have floated the Grand Canyon four times and thought I might enjoy it. He kind of rambles at times. I just struggle through that.

    Missoula River Lodge. Obviously, Montana. Not cheap but they have a number of options for float trips. Not much wading. Great meals on site....
