@Replicant Radio Silence So is that all of them? :ROFLMAO:

    Nets?

I never really use a net too often and never have carried one with me except in a boat. Well bought a couple bamboo rods and realized a net mite keep me from breaking a rod section. Saw some hand made bamboo nets made by hellbender on line and ordered one for me and one for my better half...

    Brisket secrets

I'd suggest a pan or plate or bowl of water or something between the brisket and the flame/heat to shield the brisket from the heat of the direct flames. I typically do an indirect heat until I want to sear it.

    Classic reels

I've seen Bill Archuleta is having a rough time with age and all. I wish him well. I thought I'd post a few classic perfects that I have that Bill touched to allow them to chase steelhead with me for quite a few years now. He made new reel feet for me on a 4" and a 3 3/4" to fit the modern...

    NFR F150 & Ecoboost

If you feel the transmission clunking on the downshifting into lower gears get rid of it quick. Mine went out at 70k. All of the f150 10 speeds my neighbors company had went out at 100k. They most likely fixed the problem with the newer ones but it was well known in the 2019 years. The new one...

SFR New used truck - potentially

Remember, a magnetic rod rack will no longer work if you go with the ford. I found that out right when I needed it. 😂

    Snow Shred Season 2025 - 2026

Got up to sugerbowl early. 20 degrees and 21” new reported. Snowed another 12-14 while I waited and then got the won’t open call. 🤯 Gun shy from the moms killed in the avalanche Tomorrow it is

SFR New used truck - potentially

Had to replace a turbo and a transmission on my 2019 eco boost f150 just out of warranty. Break pads lasted longer. Cost me about 14k out of pocket. Ten speed transmission is a known problem. Same story with other people I know with fords and with my ford work truck. Was first ford I bought ...

    The original knife thread.

Thoughts on serrated vs non vs partial. I’ve been given a couple real nice knives including a couple spyderco but they have been partially serrated blades. I keep sharp blades and never found an advantage with the serrations. I actually dislike them and feel they get in the way of the portion...

Looks like they are just for removing the guts if you are going to not clean them right away in the heat.

    Buying your first Bamboo rod

I’ve recently have plunged into the bamboo rod world and have picked up a hand full of rods both vintage and by newer makers. As flybill pointed out there is a lot of junk out there and being new it is hard to know what is what. I have both scored and burned with purchases on eBay. I recommend...

    Budget 4wt shorty recs?

If I remember correctly the vps was the rpl blank and the “vps light” was the LL blank.

    What's your most surprising turn?

My most surprising (maybe not so) turn from 2025 is that I have even more tackle than the year before. Even though I made the decision to purge.

    3 weight line options?

Cartland used to make the clear camo intermediate in a 3wt. I checked the box of mine after the last time this was brought up. So it’s possible you could find an older one still around. I think most of my 3 wts would preform just fine with a 4wt intermediate as long as it was not overweighted...

Floating line for big flys warm water and cold

Ended up getting one of the airflo 9wt heavy trout lines that were being given away thanks to John Svan. Will give it a try and maybe cut back the tip if it needs more turnover. Hopefully this will fit with what I’m after

    Boot Dryer

I use one of these every day for my work boots and they work great. No funk build up even when sweaty hot weather

    Backyard Wildlife

Their smell is anything but magnificent. From what I’ve been able to put together they have been roaming the area for quite some time and cover quite a large area up and down in elevation. Surprised they are able to avoid the cats
