Seriously, these pink salmon just turning the corner into the Sound can be delicious table fare. We just enjoyed two off the bbq. No downgrade whatsoever from the family. First, these two fish were chrome bright, bled out, and put on ice immediately. Not too much effort to carry a soft side...

Remember, if you accidentally tie a lasso, you must take the time to rub it out! ... the half twist that is. 🤣

Yes, I was doing the roll cast right side, then shoot over left shoulder. The guy next to me was facing shore, and releasing his backcast. If not, there might have been some unexpected piercings involved. 🤣

Fished slack, then the incoming for a couple hours today. Pretty good north wind. A few jumpers quite aways out and two seal lions patrolling, moving them around. Left handed casting practice. 😉

I hear ya. Now that it's mid-August, I'm torn between stepping back to a 6wt or up to an 8wt for my backup. 🤔 I've had a string of family commitments, but back in action next week. Don't know if I want to start taking ferry rides before or after the humpies stop running interference.🤣

Any of those beaches can yield pinks if they choose to swing in close enough, but expect more fishing than catching. 🙂 It's not like the rivers where you expect a number of encounters with each passing school(if they're biting).

Hey Nick, Not breaking off regularly, perhaps a half dozen times per season. I see the broken loop in the non-slip loop once or twice, and the rest I believe are related to leader imperfections I am either unaware of, determine I am willing to fish with(lazy), or fouled line taking the bend...

I learned the error in my ways from Mike and Steven at Tedd's Sporting Goods many years ago. If it breathes like a loose figure eight handshake your good. If it clinches down, your not. I just experimented a bit, and still can produce both results. Perhaps Kfish and Matt B are tying it a bit...
