    What's in your vise?

Difficult (for me) to take a pic of something clear but the liquid fusion is all over the eye and then spread over the front half of the eye on the front side to help seal this area off, where the stick is and around that area. Not full proof but has helped significantly.

    What's in your vise?

For the eyes, I useLoctite gel as others suggested. Then I coat the eye and down to where the eye meets the hook/material towards the eye of the hook with liquid fusion (put a dab on the eye and use a toothpick or similar to make circles and spread the LF all over the eye then down to the front...

Guided Fishing Trip- Bring your own gear?

Ask your guide. On the majority of trips I have taken (not many) it was worth using the guides equipment.

What’s your go to, bushy attractor dry fly?

I’ll consider this “one answer” as it mostly depends on creek and time of summer. Stimulator EHC Parachute adams Crowe or foam beetle

    Nymph boxes

I went with the orvis slim boxes. They are cheap. Thin too, so easy enough to carry one for each bead size or say split a box between bead sizes (if you go tungsten bead). I like them better than tacky boxes cause I can also stab some flies in the foam cause I’ll always try to add more flies in...

Fly line color... do you think fish care?

I don’t think it does. All the other factors (water spray off a line over top of a fish, seeing the line moving while casting, etc) are more detrimental than color.

    Do NOT trout set!

Agree. I do mostly the same for river smallmouth fishing topwaters for all the same reasons but I strip as well on the set so everything stays tight and rod isn’t high with no ability to take up line. Ideally I can stop the rod 2/3 way back and about halfway through the strip so I can take up...

    Do NOT trout set!

Trout setting… you guys need to find more ways to mess up like me. I can be very creative…bang the rod off the boat, punch a stripping basket, scrape the tip on a rock during the 8. So many more ways to f up a hook set than trout setting :).

Favorite bass rod weight, what you got?

8wt for me. If it’s windy or throwing larger or wind resistant flies, it works well. Can still make it be a little more subtle with low and or clear water by lengthening leader. Fishing river smallmouth (most of what I do), it works for the flies and also give that extra leverage for fish as...

    vices?

Interesting to see the variety of preferences here. I used to use a regal and loved it but decided to go a different route. I have a renzetti traveller and I like it well enough for traveling but at home I prefer a clamp vs pedestal base. Currently using dyna king trekker. Surprised at how...
