I pass a fair amount of cattle on the way to just about everywhere I fish. I’ve never heard of the “cows laying down thing” but I’m definitely going to start making a mental note ( maybe even keep a log sheet). At the very least, start using as an excuse when I get skunked! 😆

Excellent report and pictures. Catching fish, especially on dries in a lake, can make up for a lot of “surface noise”!

I tried fishing naked once, it just seemed to scare the fish away. On the plus side, no one came close and tried to steal my spot. 😆

If the definition of “the hang” is fishing a vertical leech on a full sink line, letting it just hang. That has been effective for me also. I usually do it while eating lunch or drinking a beer. 😆

Might be a bit out of your way depending on where your final destination is, but Georgetown Lake has a great campground and fishing access in the southwest corner. Just off the camp area the water drops into around 6-15’ and the fishing has been stellar for me. Edit: southeast corner
