Watch out in the blues, bear hunter shot.

That is messed up, I hope they catch the shooter. I have two tourniquets in my pack every time I go hunting or fishing.

    Found some fall turkeys!

Damn you put in some work this weekend. I've been sitting at home this weekend since my elk archery grounds are shut down due to wildfire danger.

That game had me coming unglued after we gave up the lead. Freaking amazing game.

For those who carry on the river

When I hunt and fish in Alaska, I carry my .44 magnum in a Kenai Chest Holster. When hiking, hunting or fishing locally I'll carry my Glock in a Hill Peoples Gear Recon Kit Bag.

That was a great game yesterday, I kept thinking it was going to get rained out since the delay went so darn long. Cal Raleigh has been really fun to watch, both at bat and at work as catcher.

    Montana last weekend

My daughter went to MSU as well and Fins and Feathers was my favorite fly shop in town, tons of fly tying stuff there. My problem with Bozeman was that alot of my favorites were there including Stone Glacier packs, The Chocolate Moose, Wasabi, and a few more places, lol. That town has cost me...

WAPO on Trout in Fernie BC (so much for the "secret" spot)

I've fished Fernie for a number of years now, it hasn't been a secret spot for quite some time but if you're willing to get out and do some hiking there are some gems. I recall one year my buddy and I were hiking into an area one morning and we met a guide at the trailhead who was hiking in...

Wyoming and Montana in early July

I was lucky too, the deer went underneath the truck as well.

Wyoming and Montana in early July

All my buddies keep asking me about the back straps. I was a little preoccupied dealing with the truck and the Trooper that responded. Backstraps will have to wait for elk archery season which is around the corner. :)

Wyoming and Montana in early July

I got back last week and have just now gotten around to this trip report. I traveled to the Cody area just before the Fourth of July with a buddy. We stayed with a friend in the area. Here are some photos of portions of my epic trip. We spent an entire day touring the Buffalo BIll Center of...

    Alaska in September

I love the Kenai! Dress warm in September and bring rain gear, think October here typically. If you don't like the weather in Alaska, wait five minutes :) . I can't recommend any guides, I'm spoiled I have buddies up there. Mountain View Sports in Anchorage has a nice fly shop as well.

Livingston 10’ turned into a Dogfish

I had about four episodes of Fishing with Ladin on the DVR that I watched last weekend and kept seeing these boats. They do look like a great solution for lakes.

By far my favorite weekend to tie

Seeing these beautiful flies gave me an idea for a new business venture. Wonky's Fly Recovery Service! With a small investment in scuba gear and an underwater metal detector I can scour the Madison, Gallatin, and Yellowstone and salvage long lost flies. Those three rivers alone could...
