    Painting and poetry

I finished up repairing an old fountain pen and asked my daughter to take it for a test drive.

Remington pen knife (R6465 circa 1933-35). If you look carefully, you can still see some of the original blade etch on the master. It' the little details like this and the high quality celluloid scales, nickel silver pins and excellent fit and finish that have made this one a favorite.

Cleaning Fish Smell out of Hatchback

I think I went through a case of Zep Smoke and Odor eliminator a few years ago. After evicting a non-paying renter (8 months), I went into the house and literally gagged. He seemed to take advantage of my late father's health issues and ignored the no smoking policy. Cigarette, cannabis and...

I think the local sales rep was pretty prolific at the time. I've seen them for a rope company in Bellingham and for the paper mill in Port Townsend.

Large Case-XX (1940-64) Texas Toothpick, pattern #31093 in yellow composition. In case you're curious, the shotgun shell is a 14-gauge and is older than the knife.

I've posted the top knife before. But here are two of them. Case XX pattern #6227, small Jack's. The top is a minty 10 dot (1970), and the bottom is a well loved 1940-64. When I found the latter, it had a broken tip, both on the under and on the spine of the blade. I think somebody might...

    NFR Rats.... @#$%ing rats.

I was out of there by 2008. I don't envy you. That QFC and the FOOD GIANT before it, was where I did all my grocery shopping. The only 'rat like' creature I came across in that store was on a very late evening, when I encountered a really sketchy dude hanging out in the candy section. He was...
