NFR AI - How It Will Affect Jobs In The Next 5 years

This is all wonderful news for the investor class, but says little about the broader economy that most of us live in. Compared with 12 months ago I am currently paying: 40% more for gas 35% more for coffee 30% more for eggs 15% more for beef 15% more for electricity 15% more for lumber (this...

Clearly $43,700 in fines is nowhere near enough penalty to scare Nippon Dynawave Packaging to clean up their act. Penalties for environmental and safety violations are just the cost of doing business.

Worked in a pulp mill for 2 years as a batch cook (Port Mellon, BC) before going back to school - that white liquor is nasty stuff. My sympathies to the families of those impacted and wishing full recovery to those who were injured.

Glad you had a good trip and some nice feesh. Not meaning to be an a'hole, but are you not concerned about becoming a sea anchor should you somehow find yourself taking a swim (ie, no belt, no PFD)?

    Disrespectful attitudes towards wildlife.

The reports I saw mentioned the A'hole apparently said he was rich and could pay any fine, so he didn't care - hope he serves time!!!

    Rain

Not just Cushman, going to be in issue with most other east side reservoirs that aren't fed by the Cascadian Aquifer. Reservoirs may have been full in late April/early May, but with scheduled and mandated drawdowns for irrigation, there hasn't been the snowpack/SWE, which normally would...

    Rain

Had nothing to do with "long-range forecasting", had everything to do with lack snowpack and SWE available to keep reservoirs full beyond May. Those who looked at those data points and didn't just trust the naysaying of a particular blogger demonstrated some critical thinking.

    Rain

... but wait, isn't there a local weather blogger who many seem to put stock in who said all was OK in early May because the reservoirs were at normal levels ... I know many in this site saw beyond this bit of wisdom; good on those who use a little critical thinking!!!
