    Three flavors

Here is what did the damage, actual fly. I tend to like them sparse. The buggy tail is a must. Indicator, 17' down, 3-5" strips to let it pulsate. Fish meal.

    Three flavors

There is something out there about the Fall damsel migration. Hit it big once, and on Monday after several slow, though beauiful hours in fallvember, sank a balanced damsel 17' under indicator in 18'. Game on. 10 takedowns in short order. Gad it is fun when it all works. Worth a cigar......

    What Are You Eating?

Here for 10 days, Nikko onsen, Izu-Kogen Ryokan, and Shinagawa. Mostly visiting family and friends. No fishing this time. Return the 27th. Yes, breakfast. Diner night before was even much better, but came in three sets. Wagyu.......

    A couple lifepo4 battery questions...

Nermak has a 30ah that is U1 size: https://smile.amazon.com/Lithium-LiFePO4-Battery-Rechargeable-Maintenance-Free/dp/B09H3BMYP8?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1&psc=1 I have Miady 35ah that has been great; don't seem to make it any more however.

    Why no Polyethylene/Plastic watercraft?

Been fishing a Backwater 7.5 for several years. It is 58#, I can load in back of GMC Denali XL. I'm 72. Happy to answer any questions.

Also use Noco Genius 10. Nice to have more amps, shorter charge time. One you found looks good too. Ron

    Rattlesnake temps?

Lue, great question, and leads to a really important point about the 'snake. Sometimes you can just troll all over and find a few fish. A few magic days, especially in the evening they come up for drys and it can be near epic. There a lot of fish in there (to many?). But to slog it it out, and...

    Rattlesnake temps?

Last Thursday lake was 67.8° surface temp. Fish were on daphnia between 28' and 32'. Vertical type 7, very slow retrieve. Even got one 16"! Ron

    Working deeper water

I use a 6 weight type 7 and like WW use white out to mark; at 5' and then two at 20. three at 30, four at 40. Yup on the VERY SLOW retrieve, tip right at water level, and I try to always strip set. But still miss a lot!

    Working deeper water

Have used the vertical presentation on several lakes in up to 50'. Kinda like it, especially when it gets warm and we worry a bit about 02 levels. The takes can be "thunk" or "Katy bar the doors". Something else to do out there. Electronics really help. Have had fish follow an inch by inch...

    A couple lifepo4 battery questions...

Be sure to know the max and continuous amp draw of your tm, and match battery to the motor. AGM has good amp capacity even in smaller ah batteries. The LiFePo4 amp capacity is less so will need a bigger battery as thrust increases to get amps up. My 36ah LiFePo4 is really great for 24# Watersnake.

    PWM

I see that it says "microwave safe" but would still strongly recommend against putting the PWM in the microwave.....

    PWM

Just ran mine for three days in EW. No issues at all. Flawless performance. Except for running over a fly line. Whoa, thought it was a BIG FISH the way the reel was singing..... This unit is variable speed only, and I did install a cooling fan. Also of interest, the 36ah LiFePo4 battery ran...

How do you peg the indicator?

Peg, we don't need no stinking peg........ Being a total gear nut, I have been trying these: http://www.plumbobber.com/ My reactions so far: Pricy. About $3.50 each. They cast just fine, actually rather light. Been using a Dually so one roll and zing it is all out. Have gone up to 23'...

    Lifepo4 trolling battery

Do check the max amp draw of your motor and be sure the LiFePo4 has the guts to match. All the higher price ones will be fine. My little TM only max draw 20 amps. Think I saw yours might be up to 42 amps? Charger, I went with the Noco Genius 10 which can do 6 or 12 volt, and has settings for...

    Lifepo4 trolling battery

OK, got an aux plug for 12 volt, like the cigarette lighter, some #14 wire, and an "add a circuit fuse tap" (very cool idea). Replaced the ignition fuse with the tap, put both fuses in, drilled a hole through the center console, wired it all up and now the GPS comes on automatically when the...

    PWM

Matt, measures % output level from PWM to TM. When I had one of those that worked, briefly, the propeller would turn at about 25%, but I could back it down to 10% and the prop would just rotate slowly. Kinda cool. And at 100%, you are at full throttle. Remember, you always set the TM at its...

    PWM

What fun! Looks like the manufacturers are listening and upping the game with the "enclosures". These are nice looking kits and installations. Way to go folks! Will have to schedule some PWM races.....

    Lifepo4 trolling battery

Ok, day one is water under, well the boat. Six hours on the water. Ran the length of the lake twice. Trolled for maybe an hour. Meter still reads 100%, voltage constant at 13.3. Wish I had as good luck with truck. Battery dead as doornail, because I failed to unplug add on Garmin GPS backup...
