    Replacement for Subaru Forester?

A pic of my 2023 Forester delivered Wednesday afternoon, resting on jacks since Thursday. It shouldn't be but it is. At least I'm not putting many miles on it. I doubt the dealer will pay me for the use of this pic. Details to follow

    Replacement for Subaru Forester?

Dealer 'add ons' and then maybe "financing" are where the dealer fattens their profit. I employed tactics from some very helpful youtube vids. The takeaway lesson was -- from the opening conversation, solely focus on the amount you will need to pay to drive it off the lot. Today. Before...

    Replacement for Subaru Forester?

update: Turns out the 2005 LL Bean Forester isn't going to the scrap yard at all and is now on a trailer headed to Yakima, where it will have a a second life after a used motor is installed. I was surprised at the strong interest I got in response to my CL ad. The Forester was my daily driver...

    Replacement for Subaru Forester?

Sadly, my 2005 Forester with ~170,000 miles is headed for the scrap yard. Yesterday, it threw a rod which is unfortunate as I just had the top of the engine rebuilt and some other fixes and it was running great. It's my daily driver and I'm looking for a quick replacement, preferably a used...

    Mop fly material at walmart

I'm sure those colors will work and adding beads, legs, hackle etc the variations are almost endless. Mops can be a killer lake pattern. I've been watching stores' cleaning aisle for materials in deep brown and black....definitely not popular color for cleaning mits/mops....I'll have to check...

    Thoughts on Wolff Atlas Vise?

There's nothing wrong with my well used Regal Inex vise, but I'd like to purchase a rotating vise. I like the aesthetics of the Wolff and that it's USA made. There's some used ones on the market, but I've never actually used one, so would like your thoughts. It appears the company has been...

THE DRAKE magazine - any subscribers, thoughts???

Thanks for the mention of FFJ...I'll check that out. I do miss NorthWest Flyfishing, both for the content and I know several of the regular contributors. Since it's been subsumed into "American Flyfishing" a lot of the content just isn't relevant to me.

THE DRAKE magazine - any subscribers, thoughts???

Was about to pay the $38 subscription, but then started exploring the website's tabs. Most of the website's content was very dated, like years old with very little new content or updates. Anyone here a regular, recurring subscriber to The Drake? Would like to hear your opinion.
