The Rio 4X I was using this summer was dogshit. I usually have no issues with the Rio tippet altho the 5X has been prone to flat breaking on bigger fish in the past. I just figured it was me setting the hook too hard. Really curious to see the results.

I fished a 3 wt. 8'6" CT recently and it was a hoot. I don't see the need to spend a bunch of money on a rod when the CTs fish so well.

Nice work on that I/O to O/B conversion! I did stupid shit like that when I was younger. Learning to work with fiberglass was very cool. It's amazing how versatile it makes things.
