    Cant fix stupid!

I saw a badger in YNP a while back, and have cowboy camped out in the open there. Sure wouldn't expect to be attacked in my sleep. Badgers don't play fair!

Black Bear Attack on Mount Si

As busy as Mt Si is, I wouldn't expect a bear encounter. Pretty freaky outcome, even for a sow with cubs. I'm glad WDFW decided not to euthanize the bear.

    BC Fishing License adventure....

I haven't purchased my BC fishing license yet, but did learn that our former angler number system is replaced by the BCeID system. Being generally slow on the uptake for tech-like things, it took me an hour or so, but I finally got my BCeID number on line. So I hope buying the license goes...

    Rain

Salmo don't do humidity. I may have to relocate this summer.

    Badger fishing

Excellent point. If the Commissioners don't hear the best argument, there's a good chance they'll go along with the loudest one. This Badger guy looks like just another loud voice.

    Puget Sound

And here I was, wondering if catching a Starry results in a merit or a demerit for the angler.

    NFR RIP Capt Insano Emeritis

So true Shawn. I was scrolling through PMs this morning and noticed that my last message to/from Skip was March 26, only a few days before he died. And we hadn't quite yet finished that conversation.

    What Are You Eating?

Huh, good to know, I guess. I grew up on my mother's style of English over-cook everything, so I'm leery of over-cooked food. I think we steam broccoli for 7 minutes, maybe only 4; I'd have to check with Mrs. Salmo to be sure. I see that people often put asparagus on a grill, and I'm paranoid...

Morning on the Rio Cabeza de Castor

Had me wondering where'd you'd wandered off to for a minute there with a name like Rio Cabeza de Castor. And then it hit me. Nice report. I'll keep that streamer strategy in mind next time I see a lot of bug activity but no fish response.

    What Are You Eating?

Looks potentially tasty; what is it in English?

    What Are You Eating?

Zak, French's yellow mustard? Seriously? There's actual good stone ground mustard out there, ya' know? Plochman's anyone?

    What Are You Eating?

Chicken and pasta salad look excellent. But isn't that broccoli kinda' over done? Or is "crisp" broccoli a thing that I don't know about?

    Skookum

Been using the term pretty much all my life. Being native to this area, I thought the term was used every where, not just locally.

    My 5 Year Report

Looks like a fun fishery and the kind I'd take a liking to. I've only fished for redfish once, in LA. I'd like to do it again sometime. Welcome back to the PNW.

    NFR Humor (No political jokes)

If it's a personal possessive, then be sure to include the apostrophe. For fvck's sake, dammit.

    Sammamish Sturgeon?

A shad fly pattern might be a tad difficult to fly cast. Sturgeon do also eat smelt, and a smelt fly pattern is definitely castable on a heavier weight fly rod. I believe Steve Probasco (RIP) caught a sturgeon on a fly in a Willapa Bay estuary years ago.

    Favorite Sage Fly Rod

    For nostalgia's sake, a 590-2 LL. As a practical tool, my Z-Axis 7136-4.

    Got any bird pics?

That looks a lot like the late Patrick McManus writing about his "photo of exact spot where a trophy whitetail buck was standing 2 seconds before picture was snapped." When it comes to the "pics or it didn't happen" crowd, my life is pretty much one where nothing ever happened.

    Wisconsin

Wow, that's a lotta' boat. Can't go wrong with a Lund (been driving them since 1977). Will you have to make some longer runs? From your report I didn't get the idea that you had to travel much to the fishing spots.
