A few years back I lucked into a couple of staging Chum off of the beach in deep MA-13. If I remember correctly, it was quite a bit later in the season, maybe late October or November. I'll be curious to see if anybody here is targeting them elsewhere and/or earlier in the season.

I imagine most of us go by feel. There are a few good YouTube videos from OSG on the subject that can help you to get calibrated.

I'll echo everybody's sentiments on K Pumps, they're great tools. IMO there's not much need to carry aboard your tube, so I'd recommend picking up one of the larger sizes if this will be your primary means of inflation.

Beaver lake is a great place to get started on the tube - easy launch, calm water, and usually a few people around so you can't really get into too much trouble. Let me know if you'd like to meet-up sometime, I'd be happy to come out for a float.

Unfortunately I haven't figured out how to keep one cold on the boat.

This well-loved Clouser and unnamed pink fly tempted a pair of coho, pinks, and a PB sculpin this morning. In hindsight, I should have gotten a photo of the sculpin, it must have measured 10-12" long.

Sure, they can continue to schedule the games. The problem is that the cougs and beavs won't be able to stay competitive with diminished resources. Ten years from now these matchups will look more like early season FBS vs FCS games.
