I've found the Ketchum release to be faster and easier to use than hemostats, plus they don't damage your fly the way hemostats so often do. The hook on a stick looks good too, I'm going to give it a try. I like the price!

I don't like the stickers anywhere on the exterior of my reels but do appreciate having them on the inside of the spool.

The second photo is correct. The roller comes into play when you strip line. Think of Krusty's post in the recent fly line life thread regarding line wear from stripping.

One thing I don't like about the new Cortland lines is that they no longer come with those little felt line cleaning pads. I always liked the convenience of those pads for cleaning the line while astream. No special scrubbing pad or applicator box, no bottle of line cleaning compound, no line...

Thanks. The fly pictured is a size 8 -I like this pattern a lot for trout too! I'll usually use a 4 or 6 for Coho, but have some in 2 also. I like to fish it for Coho in low water on a clear camo intermediate line. I pretty much always use silver but I think I'll make some gold ones now too...
