From my perspective, RF will never be the fishery it was without the water flows it used to have. Spent an afternoon there earlier this year for the first time in a long while and picked up a dozen or so around 16-20". Not horrible, but just lamenting the Kick Ass fishery it used to be...

I've seen the drop shot style of rigging (with indicator) work well in rivers with really weedy bottoms. To my eyes, the technique looked to be the fly fishing version of bobber dogging except with the weight on the bottom. The Indi keep the flies out of the grass while dragging the weight...

Left the daily grind and spent a week around Glacier with my 84 year old father. Sometime a few pictures say more than any words can :cool:

Headed back to Seattle from Bend OR on Monday and stopped by one of my favorite spots on the Big D for a few hours. While I usually do pretty good here, this day was especially good to me. 2 hours (9-11am) of some of the best fishing I can remember ensued. Stonefly nymphs were the fly of choice...

Took a dive down to Bend OR to visit my Dad last week. Hit a spring creek one day to see if I could find some hatchery brats. Beautiful country out there! Never fished here before so I took a long walk to see what's what. Strolled by some anglers working small pods of fish along the way and...

No leash tube or toon 3-4 strung rods. I store them in the zipper pockets when not in use or tuck one reel behind the apron if fishing two. Haven't lost one so far... but I have broke a few this way.

Last summer I had good luck the last few days with an olive Gomphus on a type V letting it sink to the bottom and slowly working it just off the deck. The dear hair floats it up and the strip makes it dive appearing to get away. At least that's what I was thinking it looked like.
