Any budget options out there? Love these reels for weekly saltwater use, but my buddy can't afford any of the big names (Abel, Tibor, Bauer, Islander). Looking specifically for the cork drag/draw bar design. Thanks!

I never had the pleasure, but I've heard good things.

It's flood tide season here in the Lowcountry, with knee deep water being the sweet spot. Water deeper than your knees and you won't see the tailing redfish, water shallower than your ankles and they won't push up onto the grass flat.

Due to my current living situation and available resources, it is much more convenient for me to soak my reel than it is to spray it off with a hose after saltwater use. I currently loosen my disc drag completely then submerge the reel in a bucket of warm tapwater. I leave the reel soaking until...

Lets get some clarification from OP. @Wetswinger what type of water do you plan on tubing? 5 acre alpine lake? 100 acre bay in Puget sound? 5000 acre reservoir?
