Yall could probably use electric shrink wrap on the end if the sheared metal is a big concern. Put a bit of tubing on the end, heat it, and be done.

So for curing eggs for chinook: If they are lower on the river closer to the ocean, I've heard its better to keep them more 'sweet' ie. less scent. When they are up farther in the river, to make them more 'hot' and add more things like krill powder. How true is this?

Figured I'd start a thread since its a fishable local river for many. How have folks done since the opener? Fished it this morning throwing pink jigs and floating some roe. No luck on either. Saw some fish roll at our second spot but none at our first.

ya know. I had this same issue on some even bigger hooks I was using as a stringer hook. And they are way thicker wire than the sc15s. Probably just an issue banging on the rocks. Although I have heard of others complain about sc15s breaking.

Finally made my Mecca to the west side. Went 0/3 on the fly rod, then 3/3 on gear for coho. Kept one clipped coho. My girlfriend also got on some fish which was awesome. Had a weird line break when I hooked a fish right at my handshake note to connect my leader and fly line.
