    Favorite Reel Grease?

Well, for fly reels, Penn Real Lube or Loon lube. For spinning reels, used about everything synthetic on my favorite Okuma reels. Nothing seems to work with plastic gears and the stupid plastic washers and bearings always fails after about a year....even when washed after each use. Used to...

    ER Conservation combined with netting

Wow, I thought this gain some interest. Bankies conserve, netting violate long standing policy and set for 5 days straight.

    ER Conservation combined with netting

Sure all have absorbed the ER closures for tributaries, and most can agree to that until it rains. In Gray Harbor they left the estuary open up to above the Satsop for continued sports and netting. Not a lot a sense there. WDFW already allowed a couple weeks of 4 continuous days of netting...

Coastal rivers closed to fishing until further notice

It's really simple why the Chehalis tide water is open, so they can net.

Fleece Lined Pants Back at Costco.

I'd go with Eddie Bauer fleece lined, cozy and warm. Think this forum came up last year and not sure why folks hot on Costco. Wife says no Costco or look like everyone else in multi county.

    Coho jigs

So tell me where to buy 3/4 jig heads painted or not. Yakima twitcher heads are perfect but don't believe anyone sells just their heads.

    Kalama River

Well, unless anyone wants to provide more info or wishes to debate on biologist science, can probably end this conversation. I think I figured the Kalama saga out after talking to Mike West. Not sure of date, but they have been trying to get rid of the Chambers Creek genetic STEELHEAD at weir...

    Kalama River

Its interesting most of us have not fished there for years, hopefully some biologist will chime in on the history of taking most of the salmon out at weir due to genetics, and status of that science project. I know why I stopped fishing the only fly only water besides Hoko, they took all...

    Kalama River

Friendly Phil informed me correctly they started removing an inferior genetic strain of chambers creek fish. At the weir at Modrow bridge. Not sure if that still going on, but remember that's when locals mad and most quit going do to numbers.

    Kalama River

I used to fish summer run SH on the Kalama regularly back in the day when the upper fly water was productive and the did not segregate the natives. Also the lower section for Coho after September. Does anyone care to share what they know of the runs on the Kalama anymore? I gave up reading...

    What's Catching You Fish?

Proprietary interests so no one knows what record Coho hit. I'd tell you where I fished last week before what special pattern to use next to me. Do you not see the similarity with telling name of river or lake? Buggers or midges are good enough info for a flyfisher.

Who can tie an ant that floats on it’s side?

Do you have an underwater view? Got to think like a Brookie.

    What's Catching You Fish?

I don't like this forum topic. Most guys would rather tell you where to fish than what what they are using successfully. But for those who have, much appreciated.

    The “Water Haul” Casting Technique

Yea, but when he gets better he can x the splashy roll cast and just backcast twice and shoot. Not a water haul tech

    The “Water Haul” Casting Technique

Agree. Probably have done this a bunch but just cast however to load my rod up enough to get my fly to a slot with least chance of tying a knot or tangling up. Always the case when short lining nymphs, but not if lots of line downstream, when you need to strip in enough to load up a regular...

    Trolling Pontoons?

Caveat, a good source tells me federal waters means more than waters declared navigable, can mean on federal or nat park lands. The larger lakes I may use for fun are safe both ways.

    Trolling Pontoons?

Thanks for this info. Good news then for WA. 9 foot pontoons with 40 thrust electric I'd like .55 HP...so exempt. Not sure of non-federal waters, but should be safe in freshwater lakes. I'll give it it go but oars enough for most lakes and may just cost me time on lake or other fly fishing...

    Trolling Pontoons?

Sounds like a plan. Cowlitz Bottomfeeder said he has set up to let me demo. Just want to try it and toon came with a mount...that I removed for weight. Do you know if WA requires registration for any motorized boat as Triggw mentions above?
