    What's in your vise?

This is a quick how to but if you search me on YouTube I have a couple more detailed videos. One important part of this is that you want to put a thin coat of clear resin on just the top of your thread body and then wrap the wire. This allows the coloured resin segment application to be smooth...

    What's in your vise?

Thanks 😊 Main body is Textreme green PolyFloss but any green thread will be fine. Tail is also the PolyFloss with peacock midge flash, sm amber wire, burnt orange SLF spikey squirrel dubbing, rust brown deer hair. The resin segments are clear resin tinted with ink from a felt marker. If you’re...

    What's in your vise?

Working on some heavy nymph patterns and kinda liked the body colours on this one. The ostrich herl should dance around quite well in the water. A couple other variations netted me some nice browns yesterday.

    What's Catching You Fish?

Thanks!! The body base is yellow Textreme BodyFly, similar to veevus body quill. The darker segments are tinted resin dabbed against sculpin olive wire.

    What's Catching You Fish?

A good chunk of my fishing background is stillwater and that’s definitely where my fishing and tying comfort zone is. Having recently moved from the interior of BC to Vancouver Island and literally just a couple minutes from the bank of the Cowichan River, I’m learning to fish rivers and tie the...

    Fire Hole hooks

I use Firehole hooks almost exclusively now and find the wide gape resulted in significantly less fish lost. The 718 is my go to chironomid hook after being dissatisfied with the Diachi 1760, Sierra 2312, and Alec Jacksons. I’ve never had one straighten on me. The 718 is a very versatile hook...
