I’ve been using a 3x leader cut to 4’5” with a tippet ring and 18” of 3x to 30” of 4x. It’s been working well for unweighted flies up to size 10. I figured I’d try 18” of 3x to 30” of 3x and see if that helped. Most likely it’s poor casting and I just need to keep working on it.

Fishing was very good which I mostly attribute to lots of healthy fish and almost no fishing pressure.

I swung this trio: Through here. There were lots of cutthroat and chubby rainbows around and the fish didn’t seem to have a clear preference.

What are you using for hackle and tail on the muddled hare’s ear?

Good maps, gas, and time will lead you to the good spots. Don’t spend money at shops that blow spots.
