Anyone missing a "Fly Fishing Rod" (NIB Burkie 8134-4)

Should be easy to call Kerry and give him the serial number to see if original buyer's name matches seller's.

    Switch vs spey recommendation

I recommend practicing the Roll Cast and the Switch Cast. The Roll Cast is the basis of the power stroke for every cast, and the Switch Cast will help you develop your D-loop. It's incredibly important that the D-loop is in line with the anchor and target. You can have your anchor in the...

Thank you for your service question.

When I'm thanked for my service, I simply reply with, "Thank you for your support." I watched a presentation by a veteran's group about this subject, and one combat veteran said he hated being thanked. He saw the horrible aftereffects of his actions in the war and did not want to be thanked...

What flavor of weirdness do you have?

I have a particular tying weirdness, but my wife discourages me from discussing it in public.

    How can ya tell

I believe, technically, if it hasn't been to sea, it cannot be considered a steelhead. But the bios here may correct me.

    Steelhead Flies

8mm bead. Just kidding. The Suskwa Poacher has been very good for me this winter, both on a shank and an Alec Jackson iron. The Hohbo Spey with some variation has gotten a couple, too. After that, it's anything marabou as long as it incorporates some black, blue, and/or purple. YMMV.

    FS Patagonia Hip Pack $60

Okay, thank you. I'll be traveling through Portland on Friday and Sunday, but I'll be going over 205 on Friday, and traveling through around 7am on Sunday.

    Puget Sound Fly Co Future

Matt has about the same number of tying materials that Anil carried, maybe just a bit more. However, he's rearranged the floor space and created space for more products. He's waiting on shipments from suppliers, which are still suffering from supply-chain issues.

    Spey Bros

I've been following this thread for the entertainment, so image my surprise when I ran across this while researching an unrelated subject. Appears Gawesworth may just be the OG of spey bros. Or he read this thread before choosing his email address.

    Puget Sound Fly Co Future

Yep, Matt bought the store from Anil and will reopen it under Puget Sound Fly Shop. The reason for the subtle name change is that they had some customers confused by the name "Fly Company" thinking they only sold flies, not everything else. Matt feels calling it a "shop" provides a clearer...

    Pram Size Opinion

I think every fisher has three boats: my last boat, my current boat, and my next boat. Sometimes there's a fourth: "Oh yeah, I forgot I had that one."

Fly Casting Fair - Fly Fishers International and Mountlake Terrace Recreation

I've never been to something like this; is there an agenda, schedule of classes, or presentations? Food or merchandise for sale?

    Cowlitz Steelhead

I wasn't aware there are hatcheries on the Tilton and Cispus. Unless I misunderstood what they mean by "Cowlitz’s four hatchery stocks – Tilton integrated winters, Cispus and upper Cowlitz integrated winters, lower Cowlitz segregated winters, and lower Cowlitz segregated summers." But they...

    Lodge Recommendations

Thanks, Salmo. Sleestak & Albula, I'm kinda in Rumsfeld mode right now; I don't know what I don't know. Particularly, I don't know if I'll be able to make a trip every year, so if this is my only chance, I want it to be as productive as possible. Hopefully, I'll learn enough from this trip...
