Word up!!! I feel the same way with summers. Not many wets left in my summer wallet, and they only get wet when I’ve raised a player multiple times and want to make the hook stick. Lately, I’m pretty happy with toothmark trophies though.

I’ve never really tried to dead drift, primarily because I find the pattern of skating/waking/grease lining (depending on the water, and river) effective and super fun. There are a couple of runs that I frequent that I think it could be done on, though, for sure.

Indeed! Traditional is a funny word in this context. In either case, there is no more fun way to catch a steelhead IMO than raising a steelhead to the surface…regardless of technique or semantics.

Disagree, for sure. The world has changed for those of us younger than retirement age. Ask anyone who was banking on a 401k to help them retire in the next five to ten. We will be working until we die, regardless. Most of us millennials came to peace with that years ago.

I use the whole kit (wipes, primer pen, glue) from AAE and use wraps sometimes but lately have been going no wraps on 4mm Black Eagle X Impacts. I shoot AAE max stealth vanes on a 3* helical.

I use a bitz and we fletch our own arrows. I would recommend it, it’s very easy to do once you get the hang of how much glue to apply and how to apply it evenly. The Bitz is awesome bc you can adjust 3/4 fletch, helical, etc.
