Early start (a bass fish report)

So serious questions, where in the water column would you start hunting bass on the west side this time of year? My catching has been later in the year around lilipads.

For you older bauer reel owners.

Not wanting to be a smarty pants here, what constitutes an older Bauer reel? What year? Model?

Early start (a bass fish report)

Dang,… I planned to fish on Tuesday. Then I get this phone call for work,… should have dropped my phone in a river or something. Good Show Billy

Is it worth eating river pinks?

That sums up my thinking,…. Give it a whirl. What can go wrong?

    talk to me about center-pinning

The Tennessee style cork and rings. I like them. I have two CP rods with them. Versatile. Just have to make sure you keep them tight. Be a real show having your reel fall off in your hand when fighting a steelhead.

    talk to me about center-pinning

I know. I would find it difficult to fish. I like my reel about mid way on the handle, seems to balance out the system really well.

    talk to me about center-pinning

That is a cool rod for sure. I remember talking to a Canadian fisherman who always wondered why we Americans put the reel in the center of the handle. They apparently felt the farther back, the longer reach of the rod thus gave an edge to mending the line.

Thanks for the advice. I'd either be in my Kodiak or Bruin. I certainly would go through with the Kodiak first. Thanks again. Sam

Watermaster Bruin - 2 person setup

I wish I was using mine more. Maybe this year. I don't have a trailer, but, keep the frame somewhat assembled. Takes me about 30 minutes to inflate and set up for fishing. I thought about a trailer too. Haven't gone there yet.

Seeking Real Opinions on Elk Rifles

With a bow I imagine you can practice in your back yard, if you have the room for it. Not so much with a rifle… (at least where I live)

    Another bada** fishing rig

Man, I love the Land Cruiser. Especially the older ones Toyota made. Never seen the those conversions before. That’s cool. Still would rather have a straight out mid 80s Land Cruiser though..

Seeking Real Opinions on Elk Rifles

6.5 might be a little light for elk. I have a Tikka T3X in 6.5 cm. They’re a great riffle for the money.
