    Drift Boat Oar Recommendations

Hi All, Need your thoughts and advice please. I have a 16’ Clackacraft FFB with the ‘standard’ set of oars. Nothing fancy - just the plastic set. I’d like to upgrade them at some point but can’t make sense of material, shape, or manufacture. Anyone favorites out there that you love? Or...

    Steelhead Fly Swap

Ah, here we go. This it right here. Might need to quit greeting the delivery driver at the door with a smile though. Could get awkward pretty quick. (And if you’re wondering, the answer is yes. I’m gonna keep posting as these beauties roll in. Don’t even try to take this joy away from me. 😃)

Euro Nymph Fly Tying | Tips

Man…you nailed it. The YouTube tying video quality is off the charts good. And the amount of stuff that gets pushed in online content in general just gets exhausting…I guess there’s no reason for fly fishing to be immune from it though. It just feels gross. Interesting observation about...

Euro Nymph Fly Tying | Tips

Cant believe I fell this out of touch with fly prices, but flies are crazy expensive now. I’m seeing anywhere from $3.00 to $4.00+ per nymph. I’ve always told people that tying flies isn’t about saving money. It’s about your creativity, getting a pattern no one else has, stuff like that. But...

Euro Nymph Fly Tying | Tips

Hi All, Long-time trout angler that’s finally breaking down and getting into this euro nymph ‘fad’ that’s been spreading. 🤠 Question on the flies… After looking at patterns online, it seems like anything goes with these as long as they stay sparsely dressed with non-buoyant material. No...

    What's in your vise?

Nice fly…looks great. I’m not familiar with this fly style but I think a micro version of this could be deadly for trout in lakes. I’d see it replacing my simple marabou leech patterns pretty quick. (Edit: I also literally can’t remember the last time I fished a lake…but you know, if I did...

    Seeking Road Trip Ideas!

Strong recommend for Central to Northern BC trout fishing…both rivers and lakes. Amazing experience and if you stay away from steelhead rivers, you’re more likely to have many places to yourself.

What crap do you get into?

Oh yah…I’ve been down these roads. Throw some Himalayan Blackberry and a down puffy jacket in the mix for a real fun time. The logical side of me says I should just golf more and avoid this stuff. But I’m good at ignoring that kind of thinking…

Alright…I couldn’t find the exact bags I was looking for but I did uncover these guys though. Free for the taking if you want to visit Tualatin. And incorporate them into our fly swap somehow. Also happy to snail mail them if that’s easier. Otherwise, Portland Fly Shop is prob your next option.
