I have had quite a few nets during my many years of fly fishing. I really like my Fishpond Nomad net that I purchased last year, even for aesthetic reasons. I had been wanting one for several years and finally coughed up the money.

I too have the Fishpond mid-length Nomad net which I bought last year. However, for years prior I used an extendable handle Measure Net. I didn’t care for the woven net it came with because flies (all barbless) would get stuck in it. I replaced that woven net with a rubber one and loved using...

That water, the fly, your clothing and large fish looks like fishing the Kenai River.

I fish still water and my Sage X 596-4 is usually lined with Cortland type 3 Level Sink for this time of the year. For floating line Rio Gold is good. These aren’t the only lines that will match the Sage X 596-4

I am a golfer and would never think of hitting golf balls into any water. People that do that irritate me. I don’t even trust the “biodegradable” golf balls.
